What is AtlanticNet?

AtlanticNet is an unmoderated discussion forum for folks interested in different aspects of community networking in Atlantic Canada. All are welcome, to lurk or to post, providing they agree to the simple rules of engagement (AUP). Please note Reply to List is the default. Although you will see the name of an individual as the sender of an e-mail, a reply goes to the whole list. Forgetting this can create interesting situations.

What is the AUP?

If you've hung around good discussion groups, you already know the form. Don't spam, don't flame, don't make sales pitches. If you are going to libel someone, you are strictly on your own: we do not monitor or moderate posts and accept no responsibility for their contents. Offenders are likely to get told off and/or cut off. The expression of telcohead thinking is tolerated but is the one occasion when flaming is permitted and - within fairly flexible limits of good taste - encouraged. We welcome mild digressions - providing they are funny - but please remember the general idea is to stay on topic.

Who are my hosts?

The ever affable Humble Bub and Christopher Ogg of Wireless Island and the ineffable Dan Bentley of Alliance Corporation are your genial and tolerant hosts.

Is there a digest?

Not at the moment. If folks decide one would be useful, we can set one up.
